Nova Lavon Brown

Nova Brown, aged 94, passed peacefully at her home on August 16, 2014. She loved arts and crafts, especially embroidery. She loved being the oldest person at family reunions. Nova loved her community. She volunteered for 15 years at Senior Gleaner in Sacramento and volunteered 13 years at Saks Hospice of Petaluma Thrift Store. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Pat. One of six children, she is survived by her sister, Lois Joye Jinks. She leaves behind three children, Patricia Wild (Bob), Joyce Brown, and Will Brown (Susan) as well as 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of friends and other family. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma, CA 94952. Following services, Nova will be interred at the Brown family plot in Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saks Hospice of Petaluma Thrift Store or the benevolent fund for Hillside Church.
