Orrie James Biggles

November 29, 1913 — January 15, 2014

BIGGLES, ORRIE JAMES - On Wednesday, January 15, 2014, our Dad, Orrie James Biggles, 100 years and forty-eight days old, left to join his beloved wife, Jacqueline, in Heaven. She preceded him in death twenty-eight years ago at the age of 65. Orrie was born on November 29, 1913, in Milltown, Georgia (now called Lakeland, GA). He was born in the old log house that he grew up in. He lived on a two horse farm, where they grew cotton, peanuts and tobacco. Orrie was the fourth born out of ten children. All have preceded him in death except his baby sister, Myrtle Lee. He leaves behind his two daughters; Kathleen and Anne, eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Orrie was a World War II Veteran and received the Bronze Medal for the Battle of Saipan in the Mariana Islands. He was an avid gardener who took pride in his vegetable's and rose's. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 11:00 A.M at the LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL (4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa, CA, 95409). Entombment with Military Honors will follow at the Valley View Mausoleum at Santa Rosa Memorial Park. As an expression of sympathy, the family prefers memorial contributions in Orrie's name be directed to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (In Care Of: VFW Post 1844, 78 Creek Court, Cotati, CA, 94931).
