Patricia Stapleton Conlon Rn, Ba

Died peacefully on October 26, 2017. She was the loving wife of Patrick Conlon. They shared 60 years of marriage together.

Born in Spokane, Washington on April 7, 1936, she was the daughter of Mary and Charles Stapleton. She attended Holy Names Academy and Sacred Heart School of Nursing. She went back to college at St. Mary’s College of Moraga to obtain her Bachelors degree. Patricia was a nurse on the very first open heart team at Sacred Heart Hospital with Dr. Ralph Berg in Spokane, Washington in 1959. She was employed at Petaluma Valley Hospital as Surgical Services Director for many years.

She was a longtime member of St. James Parish and received the Catholic Woman of the Year award. She will be remembered for her quick wit and her dry sense of humor.

She is survived by her husband Patrick and their children, Chuck Conlon of Petaluma, Meg Guendner (Dave) of Penngrove, Katie Simmons (Brett) of Boise, Idaho and John Conlon (Mike) of Petaluma. Grandchildren, David and Breanna (Stephen) Guendner, Brittany Tolman, Carlie Beevers and two great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Mary Louise and her husband James, sister in laws Peggy McCauley (Larry), Kay Conlon, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Christopher, who passed away in 2005, her brothers, Robert and Warren Stapleton and her best friend Maryjane Johnston.

Visitation will be held, Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma.  The Vigil Service will be at 7:00 pm at the mortuary.  Family and friends are also invited to the Funeral Mass, Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma, CA. Interment, private.  The family prefer memorials be made to St. James Catholic Church, Hospice of Petaluma or to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
