Patricia Ann Hammer Agnew Oppenheim

January 13, 1937 — January 8, 2015

Born January 13, 1937, Patricia Oppenheim (77) passed away peacefully at her home on January 8, 2015, under the care of Hospice by the Bay, and with her son, Don, by her side. She was the beloved wife of Alfred Oppenheim who preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by her son Don Agnew (Monica Andrews), stepdaughter Elise Thompson (Jim), beloved brother Michael Hammer (Billy), and many wonderful friends and extended family. Born in Stockton, California, Pat was the daughter of Francis and Dorothy Hammer. She lived her entire adult life in Marin County, where her amazing spirit touched lives of many people. Her appreciation for good food and fine dining were surpassed only by her deep love of nature. Determined to share both, she frequently opened her home to friends and family-those who knew her will remember those Pine Drive and Emerson Drive get-togethers with a smile! Pat attended Sonoma State University where she obtained a double Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Psychology as well as a Master's Degree in Counseling. She worked in the non-profit sector as the founder of the Family Information Center in Cotati and later became the Executive Director of Marin County Red Cross. She also spent a few years selling real estate for Coldwell Banker in Marin. Donations can be made to either Second Chance Rescue or Marin County Red Cross. Burial services will be held at Stockton Rural Cemetery on Friday, Jan. 16. 2015 at 1:00 pm. There will also be a Celebration of Life in the near future. For those interested in attending please contact her son, Don Agnew.
