Patricia V Souza

Patricia “Pattie” Virginia Souza, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on April, 2, 2022, after a long battle with cancer; one month before what would have been her 82nd birthday. Pattie was the much beloved wife of Edward Souza, her husband of 63 years, and the beloved mother of Tim (Janet) Souza, Todd (Renee) Souza, Jeff (Yolanda) Souza and Julie Souza.  She was the much-loved Nana of Andy Souza, Bryan Souza, Sabrina Souza, Chelsea Bray, Charlene Souza, Megan Poarch, Sammy Souza and Wyatt Souza; and a loving great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren.

A lifelong resident of Sonoma County, Pattie was born in Petaluma to Clarence and Josephine Haynie on May 18, 1940.  After graduating from Petaluma High School in 1958, she married her high school sweetheart Edward Souza in December of that year and began her life as a wife and mother. Pattie loved family gatherings, and her family all cherish the memories they have of holiday celebrations in her home, where the welcome was always warm, the food was always delicious and the holiday decorations always festive.

Pattie loved gardening. She also enjoyed square dancing, going to the movies, attending the Sons of Italy’s New Year’s dances, and watching the Golden State Warriors. She loved animals, particularly dogs, cats and pot-bellied pigs. She never refused to take in a stray whenever one of the kids brought one home. She enjoyed traveling to places such as New York City, New Orleans, Italy, Switzerland and Paris.  Yosemite, Hawaii and Disney Parks were her favorite vacation spots. She loved shopping for gifts, and for beautiful and unique pieces for her home and garden.

Family was everything to Pattie, and her face always lit up when she talked about her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pattie was a devoted mother and Nana, and a kind and thoughtful friend. She will be dearly missed, and remembered with love.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 am on April 22, 2022 at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary in Petaluma.
