Patrick Charles Mcgee

Patrick C. McGee passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on October 13, 2017.  He was 78 years of age.

Pat was born in Burlington, New Jersey on June 30, 1939 to Charles Joseph McGee and Stella (nee Kuslew) Christian.  He grew up in Bristol, Pennsylvania, where he attended St. Mark’s Elementary School.  After a year residency in England, he moved to Marin County, California in 1953 where he was enrolled in Marin Catholic High School.

At age 17, Pat enlisted in The United States Navy and proudly served his country over the next 10 years.  He was deployed on several vessels including the Yuma and the USS Fulton.  During his time in the Navy, Pat fostered and cemented friendships with shipmates that continued throughout his life.  Pat was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1967, achieving a rank of Electrician’s Mate Third Class.

After the Navy, Pat settled in Petaluma, California where he would begin a life dedicated to working, living, and raising his family.  Pat held several positions over his working career, including employment as a Roofer with Henris Roofing and Marin Roofing for many years.  He also worked as a Bartender in  the late 1970’s at the Golden Fleece and the 1980’s at Nick’s Cove.

Pat had a love of jazz music and he especially enjoyed Big Band, Dixieland, and Contemporary.  Pat also loved sports.  He rooted for the 49ers on Sunday’s and enjoyed playing golf and bowling.

Pat will be remembered by his family and friends for his bigger than life personality, for his huge heart, and by his grandchildren for being an ‘awesome’ Papa.  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, uncle, and friend.  He will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife, Cyndee McGee of Petaluma, CA, his children; Sean McGee of Biloxi, MS, Kelly McGee Imberman (Bob) of Belmont, MA, Kimberly Wedel and Brian Wedel of Petaluma, CA.  He is also survived by five grandchildren; Kaila, Patrick, Ian, Griffin and Teagan.  And his Nephews; Christopher and Clifford, and Niece, Courtney.

Celebration of Life to be held November 10, 2017, 1:00pm – 4:00pm at Rooster Run in Petaluma.
