Paula J. Biancalana

March 11, 1971 — April 28, 2026

Santa Rosa, California

Paula Jeannette Biancalana, 55, of Petaluma, California, passed away April 28, 2026, after a long and quietly fought battle with health issues. Paula faced the past couple years with remarkable strength and resilience, never complaining and continuing to show up for the people she loved.

Paula was born on March 11, 1971, in Santa Clara, California. She spent her early years in Pacifica before moving to Petaluma at the start of kindergarten. She attended Petaluma High School, where she stood out for her intelligence and strong ability with numbers. Growing up, she played softball and was known as both a power hitter and a fast runner. When she came up to bat, people would shout, “Move back!”

At just 19 years old, Paula began working at Oliver’s Market as a cashier. Over the course of an extraordinary 36-year career, she worked her way up to the corporate office as a bookkeeper. She took immense pride in her work, and her dedication, reliability, and sharp mind made a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of working with her.

Paula was known for her incredible luck and her even bigger heart. She loved scratchers, bingo, and trips to the casino and seemed to win more often than not. But what truly defined her was what she did with that luck: she shared it. Whether it was giving away her winnings or offering her last dollar to someone in need, Paula’s generosity knew no limits.

She was beautiful, kind-hearted, witty, sarcastic, and genuinely funny. She had a sharp sense of humor and a way of making people laugh when they needed it most. She was also deeply devoted to her family, especially her nieces and nephews, who were such an important part of her life.

Paula loved music, especially 70s classics and country, with a special fondness for Dierks Bentley. She was a loyal fan of the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers, enjoyed going to concerts, and loved driving out to the coast. Chloe, her dachshund, meant everything to her. Chloe could do no wrong, and they shared a connection unlike any other.

She is survived by her siblings: Mike Biancalana, Barbara Biancalana, Ed Biancalana, Marla (Jeff) Wiecks, Michele Weingand, and her honorary sister Chikako Kakubari; her beloved nieces and nephews: Josh, Vanessa (William “Jr”), Sara (Robert), Joe (Isela), Nicole (Aung), Kat, Jessica (Heather), and Austin (Sky); and her great-nieces and nephews: Amelia, Killian, Frankie, Xavier, Colton, Khai, Nyle, Isaiah, and Amira. She also leaves behind her cherished dog, Chloe.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Dottie Biancalana.
