Pauline C. Martens Hassold - Passed away in Petaluma on Dec. 10, 2007. Loving wife of the late Paul Martens and Ben Hassold. Devoted mother of Jack Martens of Sebastopol, Mildred Sutton of Livermore, CA, Peggy Wells and Kay Fairbanks both of Petaluma. Dedicated mother-in-law of Maria Martens of Cotati and Bob Fairbanks of Petaluma. Step-mother of Harold Hassold and his wife Ann of WA. Grandmother of 14, step-grandmother of 4, great grandmother of 16 and great step-grandmother of 8. Dear sister of the late Margaret Cornilsen, Conrad Olufs and Clara Olufs. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Pauline was born in San Francisco to Meta (Hansen) and Nickels Olufs. At the age of 1 the family moved back to the Isle of Fohr where they lived until 1927 when they returned to California. She was a member of the Penngrove Mothers Club, Penngrove Community Church and a charter member of the â??Sew & Chatterâ?? club. She worked right along side both of her husbands on the chicken ranch and finally retired at the age of 70. She loved baking and especially desserts for her family and friends.
