Philip Austin Di Stanislao

Philip A. Di Stanislao, 95, of Santa Rosa, CA, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2019 at his home in Santa Rosa after a short illness.

Phil was born in the Bronx, New York, on November 18, 1923, son of the late Eric and Marie Alda (Bruni) Di Stanislao. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lynn (Selby) Di Stanislao. Phil will be remembered fondly by his children Phyllis (Gary) Bolles, Patricia (Jim) Gonsalves, Lisa Duncan, Laura Zielke and Paul Di Stanislao. Phil is also survived by 7 grandchildren Mark (Jaime) Bolles, Kevin (Maria) Bolles, Jason Gonsalves, Ryan Gonsalves, Grant Duncan, Haley (Ben) Duncan and Jiana Zielke, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Phil was preceded in death by his sister Delia (Di Stanislao) Anderson.

A 1941 graduate of Oakland High School, Phil enlisted and served our country in the US Coast Guard during WWII. Prior to enlisting, he attended St. Mary’s College in Moraga. After the war, Phil could be found working alongside his father and other family members at Exchange Linen Service (ELS). In 1952, Phil moved to Santa Rosa as the family linen business expanded northward and he eventually became President of the company. An advent golfer into his 90’s and lifelong member of the Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club, Phil proudly shot his age at 72.

Memorial donations in his honor may be made to St. Joseph Memorial Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
