Philip Thomas Fahy

November 23, 1926 — March 7, 2015

PHILIP T. FAHY entered into eternal peace with the Lord on March 7, 2015 at his home in Rohnert Park at the age of 88. He was born November 23, 1926 in San Francisco, CA; the second of three sons to Ileen and Richard Fahy. The family moved to Santa Rosa and San Anselmo during his school years. Phil was in high school when he joined the Navy at age 17 in 1944. After 3 years of service in the Pacific, he returned home to San Anselmo, CA. He married Gloria on June 25, 1949 and they lived in San Anselmo and Napa before moving to Woodacre in 1955. He completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business at Golden Gate College 1951. His career started with Tidewater/Flying A Gasoline when he was rolling barrels in San Francisco and worked on weekends pumping gas to provide for a growing family. He was a dedicated employee for 33 years through different acquisitions and moves. Phil, Gloria and daughter Gloria Rita moved to Northridge in 1976 due to his job transfer. He retired from Tosco Corp. in 1984. They returned to Northern California in 2003 living in Rohnert Park. He always enjoyed attending the kids/grandkid's sports activities and fishing/camping vacations when the kids were young. Phil also volunteered at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Lagunitas. Phil is preceded in death by his wife (2014), Gloria, of 65 years; parents; brothers: Dick (Lucy) and Jack. He is survived by sister in law Mary; daughters Cathy and Gloria; sons Philip II (Linda), Gene (Nori), Leo (Cindie), Will (Patty) and Pat (Tracy); grandchildren: Deana (Jeff), Heather (Ryan), Will (Katie), Sean (Tanna), Patrick (Jill), Nick, Justin, Jaclyn, Tucker, Logan and Zoe; great-grandsons: Ethan, Andrew, Nicco, and Dante'; and many nieces and nephews. Our family's deepest gratitude is to Lisa, who had been Phil and Gloria's caregiver for 7 years and to Steve and Smiley who were with Phil for the last 7 weeks. Also, thank you to the staff of St. Joseph's Memorial Hospice. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass followed by a lunch on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 4595 Snyder Lane, Rohnert Park, CA. A private inurnment will take place a later date at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Santa Rosa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, or a charity of your choice.
