Phyllis Lichtenberger - Phyllis Rita Lichtenberger recently passed away on June 29, 2008 in Santa Rosa, CA and joins her husband of 60 years, Leonard Lichtenberger. Phyllis (Phyl) was born in San Francisco, CA on November 3, 1927 and was the youngest member of the Schmidt family, but was later adopted by Al Illias along with her older sister and brother. Phyllis attended elementary school and one year of high school in San Francisco and later moved to attend Healdsburg High. Upon graduation, she moved to Santa Rosa and entered Beautician"s School. She was a Certified Beautician and worked at that for a few years until she met Leonard Lichtenberger in 1947. Leonard and Phyllis married on April 4, 1948 and proceeded to build their home in Santa Rosa. She was a charter member of St. Eugenechr(39)s and Holy Spirit parishes and an active member in the Rincon Valley Grange and Santa Rosa Druids. Phyllis served on the Cardinal Newman Guild Board and was a Director for the Rincon Valley Volunteer Fire Department. She was active in the St. Eugenechr(39)s Mother"s Club and a Cub Scout Den Mother. Phyllis enjoyed travelling and could give you a good run at Pinochle, dominoes or cribbage. Phyllis was preceded in death by her life partner and husband, Leonard Lichtenberger and brother Otto Illias. She was surrounded and cared for by her family - loving mother of Diane Greenough of Sheridan, WY and Bill (Adele) Lichtenberger of San Francisco, CA, grandmother to Cristina Lichtenberger of San Francisco, CA, Vanessa (Scott) Pritchard of Seattle, WA, Gayle Greenough of Santa Rosa, CA, her sister, Marie Oster, Antioch, CA, and numerous beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
