Raymond John Demarta

Raymond John DeMarta - passed away on May 11, 2011 at his home. Partner, best friend, and devoted husband of Jaye Larsen of Sonoma. Loving father of Mark DeMarta and his wife, Sonia, of Los Angeles, the late Pamela Lynn DeMarta, and Stacy Larsen and his wife Toni of Petaluma. He is also survived by his granddaughters; Nancy, Michelle, Kimberly, and Savannah, his brother, Robert DeMarta and his wife, Patricia of Fremont, Ingrid DeMarta of Fairfax, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara DeMarta, and his brother Roy DeMarta. In his spare time, Ray enjoyed participating in a variety of sports, including scuba diving, golf, and especially skiing. He also loved reading, cooking, and music. Ray is remembered, by those who knew him, to be generous, humorous, and a man who celebrated life with a passion. We will all miss his charm, wit, and friendship. In his memory, contributions may be made to the Sonoma County Animal Shelter. Ray was born in San Francisco May 10, 1933 to Leroy and Eva DeMarta. He graduated from Lowell High School and College of Marin and received his bachelor's degree and teaching credential from San Francisco State University.
