Robert A. "Bob" Bianchini - Bob Bianchini passed away comfortably at his home on Sunday January 2, 2011 at the age of 61 surrounded by family and friends.
For the last 16 years of his life, Bob battled a brain tumor. A long time Petaluma resident, Bob was known to be happiest around friends and family.
Bob was almost never without an encouraging word, remaining upbeat and selfless throughout his struggles.
Bob was an easy friend to anyone, keeping up friendships since grade school. Through the ups and downs of his illness, Bobâ??s friends were always by his side.
It was his fun loving spirit and beach boy good looks that caught the attention of his future wife while the two were students at schools in Marin.
Born in San Francisco, Bob was raised in Marin County and attended Chico State University. He sold wine and spirits for several different companies over the years.
Bob was an avid duck hunter and loved traveling, boating, and water sports.
Bob was one of those people that others gravitate towards. Bob loved people and always had fun where ever he went.
In addition to his wife Shelley, Bob is survived by his two sons Tony (Lori) of Rohnert Park, Joey (Cecilia) of Santa Rosa, and daughter Jenny of Petaluma. Bob is survived by his sister Joelene Bianchini-Aguirre (Jorge) of Fairfax and his brother Don (Robin) of Rohnert Park. Bob is also survived by grandchildren Maddie and Dominic, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The Rosary service will be held on Friday January 7, 2011 at 6:30 pm and the Funeral Mass will be held, Saturday January 8, 2011 at 10:30 am, both services being held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Petaluma. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Bob Bianchini trust at Petaluma Exchange Bank or to Hospice of Petaluma.
