Robert E. "Bob" Baker, Jr.

November 17, 1931 — May 13, 2022

Passed away May 13, 2022, in Sonoma, California at the age of 90, beloved husband of the late Rose Ann Baker. Loving father of Joanne (CDR Michael “Bulldog,” US Navy, Ret.) Christopherson and Chris (Jeanie) Baker. Dear brother of Richard (Pam) Baker and Annabel (Wayne) Vondera. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in S.F., CA, Robert was raised and educated in Petaluma, graduating from PHS, Class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict following high school and returned to Petaluma where he began a career as a meat cutter. He operated Petaluma Frozen Food Lockers, was later a partner with Stan Ramatici at Combs Lockers, then worked for Food City Market in Sonoma and later for Molly Stone Market in Sausalito. He also owned a bottled water distribution business as well as helping his son for many years in the hay business.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary and Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the mortuary with burial following at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. Reception to follow at the Penngrove Social Fireman’s Clubhouse, 385 Woodward Ave., Penngrove, CA  94951.
