Robert G. "Bob" Jensen

Passed away August 3, 2021 after battling cancer for three decades.

Born in 1946, Bob attended local schools, growing up in Cotati and graduating from Petaluma High School in 1964.  Following graduation, he entered the Marine Reserves, serving for 6 years.  His love of cars beginning as a teenager led him to work for and later own auto parts stores:  Fred’s Union, A&L Auto Parts, Central Auto Parts (co-owner) and Boulevard Auto Parts (owner).  He then worked for California Cooperative Creamery in Petaluma for 10 years.  His last job was working for the city of Santa Rosa in the maintenance department.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, George Jensen & Fern Jensen Gillogley.  He is survived by his ex-wife Cheryl Jensen and their sons William (Billy) Jensen (Britt), Jerrad  Jensen (Jessi), and grandchildren Joey, Jamie, Gavin and Garrett, all from the Petaluma area.  He is also survived by his sister, Judy Jensen Gustafson, Cotati.  There are also cousins and nephews as well as other family members.

Bob spent 20 years living in North Carolina after he left his last job in Santa Rosa.  Having spent several years owning and driving cars at the Petaluma Speedway, he was able to pursue his love of racing and Nascar in North Carolina where he enjoyed attending races and visiting some of the area shops.  He also became interested in antique/estate sales when his neighbor/dealer enlisted his help from time to time.

When he left North Carolina, Bob moved to Fernley, Nevada, where he lived for six years, enjoying the quiet life there.  He also liked living closer to his sons and his Petaluma area friends and family.

Bob would especially like to thank Alice Radtkey, his best friend and partner, for her companionship and loving care during his final illness.

At his request, there will be no services.  Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Petaluma or to your favorite charity.
