It is with great sadness and hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well lived, that the family of Robert John Camozzi shares his peaceful passing on October 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was 93 years old and a Petaluma native and a 3rd generation Sonoma County dairyman.
Robert was a lifelong Petaluma resident, and a 1950 graduate of Petaluma High School, where he was involved with FFA. He then went on to be an auctioneer for many years at the FFA annual bake sale.
In 1940 Robert’s family moved from Corona Road in Petaluma to their current ranch on Stony Point Road, where he was part of the Camozzi Brothers Dairy for many years.
Robert met the love of his life, Gloria DeMattei at the Midway barn dance in Santa Rosa. They married on June 19, 1960, and just recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Robert was a founding member of the ICF branch #150 in Cotati. He was an active member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cotati and St. Vincent DePaul Society, where he helped pass out food to the needy. Robert was also a member of the St Joseph’s Men’s Club and a past member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a player agent for Rancho Cotati Little League for many years.
Robert loved watching baseball, gardening, spending quality time with his family and working alongside his sons on their dairy farms. He was unconditionally supportive and was always there to land a helping hand in any way that he could
Robert is survived by his loving wife Gloria, his children Laura (Tim) Nunes, Louise Camozzi, Bobby (Norene) Camozzi, Jennifer (Brandon) Crayne, Joseph Camozzi, as well as 10 grandchildren - Stephanie, Bobby, Lianne (Robert) Blayke (Cami), William (Rylee) Jack, Scott, Madison, Karly and Matthew and 6 great grandchildren - Robert, Charlotte, Parker, Louis, Adeline, and Caleb. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, along with his sister-in-laws Lydia Camozzi, Renee DeMattei, Beatrice Castino (Cheryl), Marie Ramey, and Valerie Clausen and brother-in-law David Castino (Patricia). He was proceeded in death by his parents, Andrew and Edith (D’ambrogi) Camozzi, brothers, Richard (Lorraine), Andrew (Dorline), Eugene and his in-laws Eleanor Hayden (Chuck), Dorothy Proteau (Don), Evelyn Consani (Hank), Anthony DeMattei (Marge), Angela Polly (George”Bud”) Robert DeMattei, Davis Ramey and Edward Clausen.

Family and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11:00am at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 150 St. Joseph’s Way, Cotati. Visitation will be on Sunday November 2 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Parent Sorensen Mortuary, 850 Keokuk St, Petaluma. Burial services will be private.
