Robert Lawrence Comyns

April 29, 1926 — December 30, 2018

At peace and reunited with his beloved Margie on December 30, 2018. Born to John Comyns and Marguerite Maysenhalder in San Francisco on April 29, 1926. Younger brother of John (Jay). Devoted father of Laura, John, Margaret (Peggy), Thomas, and Kathleen. Loving grandfather of Jennifer, Erin, Christopher, Kaitrin, Tyler, and Lucas. Great-grandfather of Melody, Desmond, Sariah, and Levi. Our father was a generous man who gave freely of himself to his family and community. He was a longtime member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a COTS volunteer and “Grandpa Bob” at Tiny Tots. He loved to spend time with his family; Mama always said if it were up to Dad, they would’ve had a hundred children! He loved music, played the guitar, was an avid fisherman and fan of the San Francisco Giants. No one could beat him in poker, though we all thought he was just incredibly lucky. We will forever be grateful for our father’s devotion to his family. Proud veteran of WW II, United States Navy. A Memorial mass will take place on Saturday, January 5, 1:00 p.m., St. James Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma. Reception immediately following in the Church Hall. Private interment, Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Robert would have appreciated donations to COTS or Hospice of Petaluma.
