Robert Chester Decker

July 29, 1961 — August 6, 2016

Passed away at home in Cotati, CA, August 6, 2016 at the age of 55. Robert was born in Santa Rosa and reared and educated in Sonoma County, graduating from Rancho Cotate High School. He had a 39 year career as a tow truck driver in the area starting to work at a very young age. His enthusiasm for the job had him volunteering for 20+ years as a tow and water truck operator at the Petaluma Speedway. The Speedway was his second family and they will be honoring him Saturday, August 13th during their intermission. He also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Central Sonoma County Bowling Association and was the President of the Continental Lanes Match Club in Rohnert Park, CA for 8 years and 1-2 years as Vice President before that. Robert is the son of Eloise Decker of Cotati and the late Floyd Decker. He is survived by his sister, Cathy Brazil (John) of Vallejo; niece, Christina Boyle (Mike) of Fairfield; great nephew, Cason Boyle and his cousins, Greg Stras of Petaluma and Wayne Stras of Santa Rosa. A special thank you to Hospice of Petaluma, Debi McEntee and Mark & Shannon Ackermann for their loving care and support during Robert's last days with us. Per his request, there will be no services held. Donations may be made to the Bowlers Veterans League or Cancer Research.
