Robert M. Drake

Passed away on September 17, 2013 after a long illness. Bob was born, March 23, 1928 to Leray and Ruby Malone in Hanford, CA. He and his sister, Mom and Step Dad, Paul Drake, moved to Petaluma in 1938. He spent the rest of his life in Petaluma. Bob was the loving husband of Joan Drake for 7 years and the late Jean Drake for 49 years. He was the adored father to Charry Hutchison (Gene), the late Susan Frassetti (William), Michael Drake (Cindy) and William Drake (Diana). Step father of Brent Day (Luretta). Amazing Papa to Heidi (Val), Carly (Jeff), Paul (Sara), Stephen, Robert, Cathleen, Andrew, Kimberly and Matthew. Step grandfather of Ryan and Heather Zeeb and Shawna Day. Great grandfather of 4. He was the adored brother of Geraldine Norton; loving brother-in-law of Richard Norton, Robert Barry and Sandra Parady. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bob had a zest for life and a smile that could light a room. He loved to hunt deer and dove and spend time with his family at their cabin at the Circle D Ranch. Bob was the manager for the fuel division for McPhails for 40 years. He was a member of Nicasio Parlor #183 NSGW, Petaluma-Hamilton Lodge #180 F&AM and the Circle D Ranch. The family would like to thank Dad's adoring caregiver, Yury Alonso and the staff at Petaluma Care & Rehab for their wonderful care of Dad. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service, Monday, September 23, 2013 at 11:00 am at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Private entombment, Cypress Hill Memorial Park. The family prefer memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma or to your favorite charity.
