Robert F. (Bob) Miller, unofficial mayor of Olive Street, passed away peacefully Thursday Feb.27 in Petaluma at age 82. Son of Greta and Frank Miller, he was born in Havre, Montana and moved to Sacramento, CA in his teens. He served in Korea, happily returning to California to work in the insurance industry for 30 years, and retired as Claims Manager for A & A Insurance Brokers.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne, daughters Kelli Miller (Mark Crnogorac) and Karen Johnson of Sacramento, granddaughters Lori Bottega and Lindsey Ray, sister-in-law Joan (Ted-deceased) Miller of El Dorado, niece Terri (David) Moberly of Virginia and nephew Rick Miller of Oakland. His sister Marilyn is deceased.
In retirement he was a go-to guy for neighbors, enjoyed tractoring with friends on their nearby ranch, and generally taking life easy. His openness and generosity will be missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma CA, on March 15 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Petalum at 416 Payran, Petaluma CA 94952 would be appreciated.
