Robert Edward Moffitt - Passed away January 19, 2010. Robert Edward Moffitt was born in Havana, Arkansas
March 26, 1933, and moved to California. He graduated from Arroyo Grande High School
in Nipomo, Ca. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy in December 28, 1950. Served
on the USS Valley Forge (CVA 45) during the Korean War and was honorably discharged
December 16, 1955. He received the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct
Medal, United Nations Ribbon, Korean Service Medal and the National Defense Service
Medal and the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon. After the war he went to work for the
U.S. Postal Service in 1968, where he delivered mail in the Santa Rosa area for
about 30 years. He belongs to the National Association Letters Carriers Union, North
coast Branch #183 of Santa Rosa. Robert was an avid hunter and enjoyed Trap Shooting
with his many friends. He was a member of the American Bloodhound Club, and Northern
California Bloodhoundchr(39)s West. He worked with his wife to rescue Bloodhounds that
were abandoned. Robert and his wife just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary
July, 2009. He is survived by his wife Patricia Moffitt, daughter Melady Geremia,
granddaughter Shelby Geremia, of Willits, Ca. and his sister Shirley Moffitt and his
98 year old mother-Mae Moffitt from Grants Pass Oregon. Michael Leonard,
brother-in-law, Donna Leonard-sister-in-law and their children-Patrick, Loriann and
Sean and numerous other relatives.
