Robert Hansen Myers

On September 24th, 2026, Petaluma native Robert H. Myers passed away quietly at the age of 94, with his family by his side.

Robert proudly served in the Navy and the Naval Reserve, retiring as a Commander. While attending the University of Utah, Bob began his extensive law enforcement career as an officer with the Salt Lake City Police Department. He later served with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, eventually retiring from the California Highway Patrol, and also retired as a U.S. Federal Marshal.

Beyond his service, Robert was deeply dedicated to his community, spending over a decade removing graffiti in Petaluma. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Elks Lodge.

He is preceded in death by his wife Grace E. Myers and his parents, Leland and Helen Myers. Robert is survived by his brother, Richard Myers; sister, Marilyn Wise; four children, April Palmer, James (Sylvie) Palmer, David (Heather) Myers, and Shannon Myers; as well as several grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
