Robert "Bob" Silva

SILVA, ROBERT (Bob) J. - Age 81 years, of Santa Rosa passed away surrounded by family on March 1, 2013. Born in Waipunalei, HI on September 25, 1931, Bob graduated from Hilo High. A Korean War Veteran, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 31 years, at the rank of CWO-4. Bob then studied horticulture at Santa Rosa JC, becoming manager of Darlings Nursery. Bob and Theresa (Terry) Vieira, wed in Hilo, HI, were happily married for 58 years. Bob was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul/St. Rose, Redwood Chapters of Knights of Columbus and MOAA. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Adelaide Silva, siblings Rose McCarthy and Gilbert Silva. Bob is survived by wife Terry; sister Mae Gomes; children Kim (Larry) Draper; Natalie (Michael) Hutchinson; Gregory (Dawn Justice) Silva; grandchildren Julie (Ted) Davis, Daniel (Nicole) Draper, Casey (Joe Allen) Silva; great grandchildren Hayden Draper and Madison Davis. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Rose Catholic Church (398-10th Street, Santa Rosa, Ca, 95401). Private inurnment; Calvary Catholic Cemetery, St. Theresa Mausoleum (2930 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa, CA, 95404). LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL (4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa, CA, 95409) will provide visitation hours on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, where at 7:00 PM a Vigil Service will be conducted in the main chapel.
