Roderick W. "Rod" Sutliff

Passed away suddenly, August 28, 2014, beloved husband for 60 years of Kathleen Sutliff of Petaluma. Loving father of Thomas (Shirley) Sutliff of Santa Rosa, Michael (Linda) Sutliff of Rohnert Park, Patricia (James) McCarten of Brookings, OR, Paul (Kathy) Sutliff of Petaluma, Mark (Corrine) Sutliff of Windsor, James (Cindy) Sutliff of Rohnert Park and Kathleen (Russell) Colsen of Rohnert Park. Adored grandfather of 22 and great grandfather of 8. His life experience is one to be cherished, we should all be so loved. A native of Los Angeles, CA. Age 80 years. A 43 year resident of Petaluma, Rod was the creator of RS Technical Services for the past 30 years. His tinkering with electronics lead to several businesses that still employs many family members today. He was credited with several innovations in many industries during his lifetime. Some of the things that his family is most proud of, is his time at Jet Propulsion Laboratories (JPL) working with several NASA projects. He taught electronics at Pasadena City College. He started Willtronix in Los Angeles, Marin Tek, Polycold as well as RS Technical Services her in the North Bay. Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial service, Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 2:00 pm at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, Ca. The family prefer memorials be made to COTS, Petaluma Kitchen, Hospice of Petaluma or your favorite charity.
