Roger J. Marr died peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 24th. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary: Roger never really got over her loss and we hope they are joyfully reunited now.
Roger was born in 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah, but moved to San Francisco in 1925 and was a California resident for the rest of his life.
Roger served in the Navy during WWII and he always enjoyed sharing his "war stories" with everyone. Roger was a San Francisco police officer for 26 years, retiring as a Sergeant. For much of his career he was a ‘beat cop' on Clement St. in the city's Richmond District. He thoroughly enjoyed meeting and helping people.
Roger was predeceased by his son John. He is survived by his other 7 children: Ann (Garry), Kathleen, Mary Ellen(Ralph), Daniel(Margarita),Margaret (Mel), Theresa, and Michael. Devoted grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 6. Roger will be missed by all, but we hope he is walking his new beat in heaven.
