Ronald Marvin Lester

A resident of Healdsburg, CA, Ronald M. Lester passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He touched many lives with his humor and friendship.

Ron was born in Patuxent River, Maryland to Walter Marvin Lester Jr. and Maxine Merle Boyce Lester. He was raised in Berkeley, CA and graduated from Berkeley High School. Ron attended Santa Rosa Junior College for his AA degree. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve during the Vietnam War on the aircraft carriers, the USS Hornet and the USS Kearsarge . After his Navy service, Ron enjoyed a career as a Plumbing Contractor, owning his own business and working throughout Sonoma County. Ron enjoyed traveling, watching sports, listening to music, playing his Ukulele, good food, swimming, scuba diving, ocean sunsets, fast cars, a good fitting ‘Gentleman’s Hat’, his beloved dog, Dixie, and all his wonderful friends.

Ron is survived by: his loving wife, Diana Marconcini Lester; devoted children, Tamara Best (Peter) and Otis Lester (Jill); grandchildren: Michael (Mariana), Annie, Jackson, Levi, Cora, and Natalie; niece, Lesley Sanders Rosas (Augustine); nephews, Ron Sanders (Jennifer) and Alan Sanders (Laura); and stepbrother, Dennis Ruggiero.

Ron was predeceased by: son, Calvin Lester; parents, Walter M. Lester and stepmother, Doris Lester; sister, Patricia Lester Badu; stepsister, Joan Bugler; and grandparents, Walter Marvin Lester, Sr. and Isabel Macdonald Lester.
