RONALD J. RANSOM passed away on January 22, 2015 in San Rafael. Devoted husband of Maj-Lis Ransom of Petaluma. Cherished father of Brett Ransom (Suzie) and Richard Ransom (Leslie) all of Petaluma. Beloved grandfather of Jack, Ryan, Cole, and Chase Ransom. Adored son of Evelyn Ransom and the late Robert Ransom. Loving brother of Robert Ransom, Jr. (Diana). Survived by several nieces and nephews. Dear son-in-law of Margit Akesson. Age: 70 years. A Member of: Petaluma Elks Lodge #901, Native Sons of the Golden West, and Painter's Union Local #83. Ronald was born, reared and educated in Petaluma, graduating from Petaluma High School. He married Maj-Lis in Petaluma in 1965 and together they enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage. He worked for the union as a house painter in San Francisco for 36 years, finally retiring in 2000. In his spare time, Ronald enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was also an avid Nascar and SF Giants and 49ers fan. Above all, Ronald loved his family; he will be greatly missed. Private family services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Petaluma Elks Lodge Purple Pig Project or the Native Sons of the Golden West Cleft Palate Fund. Private Inurnment. Family assisted by PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Petaluma.
