Ronald G. Tietz

RONALD G. TIETZ passed away on May 14, 2016 in Rohnert Park at the age of 68 years. Devoted husband of Nancy Tietz. Cherished father of Brian Tietz and Christie Edwards (Joey). Beloved grandfather of Madison, Avery and Ethan. Loving brother of Dale Tietz (Velda) and Barbara Dorotinsky (Ralph). Dear son of the late Rhoda and Arnold Tietz. Survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Ron was born, reared and educated in San Rafael, graduating from Terra Linda High School. After high school, he enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed in Thailand for two years and later Point Arena. He worked for the County of Marin as a senior radio communications tech and microwave specialist. Ron was an avid Ham radio enthusiast and an amateur astronomer. He was a member of the Sonoma County Astronomical Society in Santa Rosa, SIRS#100 of Petaluma, and St. Mark Lutheran Church in Santa Rosa. Ron was a scout master and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed kayaking, his many camping trips to the Sierras with other scout leaders, and walking his beloved dogs, Riley and Zoe. Above all, Ron loved his family. Ron is remembered by his family and friends as a kind, loving, caring, and nonjudgmental person. He will be greatly missed.
