It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Rory Reed Ingalls of Sebastopol announces his passing on May 16, 2018, at the age of 68 following an unexpected heart attack. Born on July 6, 1949, to the late Reed and Lillian Ingalls in Oakland, California, Rory was a reserved, sensitive man with a quick wit, kind eyes, and a gentle heart. He found peace in nature and meditation, joy in cycling and music, and love in family, friends, and his feline companions. He was passionate about gardening, cooking, and nutrition and was an avid reader who loved travel and adventure. A renaissance man, he expressed his creativity and artistic side through the design and creation of stained glass art, fused glass art, and painted pottery. All of which he shared with the love of his life, his daughter Eliana. Rory graduated from Mount Diablo High School in Concord, attended Dominican College in San Rafael, and earned his doctoral degree in psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. As a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist with an attachment theory approach, Rory cared deeply about people and relationships. He is survived by his wife Deborah, his daughter Eliana, and his sisters Randi and Lynn. He is predeceased by his sister Susan and his brother Reed. Rory will be greatly missed and never forgotten. A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Rory’s life will be held on Saturday, June 9, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Ragle Ranch Regional Park (Lions Grove Group Picnic Area) in Sebastopol.
