Rosalie Barbara Gardner

September 21, 1922 — January 25, 2019

Rosalie Barbara Gardner (nee Brandl) was born on a farm in Hartington, Nebraksa, into a large German immigrant family with 10 siblings.

Moving with her husband Fred Buckman to Los Angeles, CA, then San Diego, CA, in 1941, she started her own family.

She worked for Convair, also known as General Dynamics, until retiring in 1988. She was an avid sports fan, an excellent bowler, loved to dance, and enjoyed 32 consecutive seasons cheering on the San Diego Chargers.

She was an Usherette for The San Diego Symphony, a volunteer at the Alvarado Hospital, and served with La Mesa RSVP.

She suffered a stroke in 1998 and survived 20+ years disabled, living in multiple care facilities.

Rosalie is survived by 4 sons, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (7710 El Cajon Blvd., La Mesa, California, 91942). Inurnment, El Camino Memorial Park (5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, California, 92121).
