Rosalyn Patricia Del Prete

December 29, 1936 — February 5, 2026

Pat was born on December 29, 1936, at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco to Clarence and Gertrude Haskin. She was their only child, cherished and adored from the very beginning. As a young girl, the family crossed the Golden Gate Bridge to Marin County, where Pat grew up in San Rafael and built lifelong memories.

From an early age, Pat was active and spirited. She loved tennis and roller skating, was a synchronized swimmer, and excelled in volleyball. At the young age of 16, Pat met the love of her life, a handsome young Italian named John Del Prete. He swept her off her feet, and the two eloped to Reno, Nevada in 1953, later celebrating their marriage with a church wedding. Pat graduated from San Rafael High School in 1954.

Pat and John were blessed with their first daughter, two years after being married, followed by four additional children. They spent their first 23 years together in San Rafael, joyfully raising their family. They shared a love of dancing and were active in Italian clubs. John showed his hunting dogs, with Pat happily by his side. Always busy and full of energy, Pat successfully ran a swim school for 12 years and was active with the Red Cross.

The family later moved to Petaluma, where Pat and John became ranchers. Pat continued her professional life, managing banks and serving as an executive secretary for the Boy Scouts. In retirement, she embraced life fully—traveling, cruising the world, serving as Queen of the Red Hat Society, and being active in the Petaluma Woman’s Club. Together, Pat and John were involved in many local organizations, including The Elks, Sons of Italy, the German Club, and more.

As only child who dreamed of a large family, Pat’s greatest joy was being surrounded by those she loved. She was blessed with five children, Diana, Susan, John (Jen), Jim (Mia) and Sheryl (John), nine grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. Pat and John shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. After John’s passing, Pat moved to a retirement community, where she served as President of the Residents’ Council for six years, demonstrating her natural leadership and dedication to others.

Pat passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, John. Services will be private.
