Rose Dell'Osso

Rose Dell’Osso passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024 in Sonoma at the age of 95. She was at peace surrounded by her family. Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Vince in 2011.

She was born in Lucca, Italy in 1928 and came to California in 1946. The Dell’Osso family owned and operated the Green Mill Inn from1972 - 1991 after they moved from San Francisco to Petaluma.

Rose loved spending time with her family and was happiest at the big Italian family gatherings in their home. She was a very spiritual person and attended Catholic mass regularly. She spent many hours cooking, baking, knitting scarves, hats, shawls, and blankets for family, friends and many charities,

She is survived by her daughter Paula Kavanaugh (Mike), son Vince (Cheryl), and son John (Jacqueline). Grandchildren John, Matt, Jaclyn, Anthony, Joe, Nicholas, Gabe and Rachel and great grand children Colin, Shane, Aria and Ava.

A funeral mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma on Thursday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. Following the mass, a private interment will take place.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to By the Bay Health and Hospice Care, Alzheimer’s Association or a favorite charity.
