Rose (Rodgers) Ramacciotti, daughter of William Rodgers and Mary (Narciso) Rodgers and sister of Adeline Ferronato, Marie Righetti, William Rodgers, and Louis Rodgers, was born on July 17, 1923, in Petaluma, California. She died peacefully on her birthday, July 17, 2024, at 101.
Rose grew up on the family ranch on Bodega Avenue in Petaluma. She married Charles McKenna in 1945. They owned the Chili Bowl restaurant in Petaluma and moved into a house on Averye Way, where she lived until her death. Rose married Henry “Bib” Ramacciotti in 1958. He passed away in 2011 after a long illness. Rose loved dancing at the Portuguese Hall, her soap operas, the Giants, gardening, and playing the slot machines in Reno and later at River Rock Casino in Geyserville.
Rose was preceded in death by her grandson Robert (Bobby) Toops in 1993, and her daughters Judy Melton in 2014, Nora Dunton in 2018, and Mary Rose Ford in 2024.
Rose is survived by her children, Kathy (Bob) Toops and Terry (Bonnie) McKenna, 14 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family is deeply grateful to Hired Hands Caregiver Service and to her granddaughter Nicole Melton, who lived with and helped care for her in her last years.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 30 from 5pm-8pm with a Rosary at 6pm at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary, 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma, CA.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 31 at 11am at St. James Church in Petaluma, 125 Sonoma Mountain Pkwy in Petaluma, followed by interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Petaluma.
