Rose M. Vivier

Our loving mother passed away on May 31, 2019 in Santa Rosa. Rose worked in the grocery industry for over 20 years. After that she and her husband Larry became owners of "The Cookhouse" restaurant in Santa Rosa. Most people to this day rave of the delicious food. For many years, she and Larry, with friends and family, hosted “The Cookhouse Show and Shine” on Father’s Day at Juilliard Park just down the street from “The Cookhouse”. In Rose’s spare time, she carried on the family tradition of Bingo! She also loved going to the casinos with Larry. Rose was a San Francisco Giants fan and loved watching golf and Tiger Woods. She spoiled her two children, Denise and Larry Jr. rotten even in their adult years. Rose was the main babysitter, before and after school of all three of her grandchildren: Nick, Chris and Crayton, from kindergarten through all of grammar school.  Rose was a caring soul, always putting her family first. She should be remembered as being a loving wife, mother, grandma, outspoken and feisty but always compassionate. She will be missed dearly.

Rose is the devoted wife of 53 years to the late Larry A. Vivier Sr. of Petaluma; daughter of the late Rose Marie Eling and Gerald F. Eling Sr. and sister of the late William H. Eling and Gerald F. Eling Jr. She is the cherished mother of Larry A. Vivier Jr., of Petaluma and Denise L. Boschee (Cory), of Rohnert Park; adored “Nama” (grandma) of: Nick Vivier, Chris Vivier, Crayton Rasmussen (Leesa), and Josi Glur; great- grandma to twins, Olivia Jo and Grace Lorraine Rasmussen; beloved aunt of: Shannon (Bill), Briget, Kelley, Kelly, Tami, Tracy, Matt, Kevin, Mike and Sean (Chrissy); sister to Geraldine J. O’Donnell (Tim), and sister in-law to Linda Eling.
