Rosemarie Decarli

May 15, 1961 — July 2, 2016

ROSEMARIE DeCARLI, a well-known and extremely talented member of the Petaluma community passed away Saturday morning, July 2, 2016 at the age of 55. Rosemarie was a gifted decorator, artist, musician, cook, viticulturist and volunteer. Her holiday decorations throughout the year were a joy to her family and friends for all holidays, especially Christmas. At one time, her design and contributions to the window decorations at Marisa's Fantasia won an award from the city. Rosemarie loved designing and making fashion clothes for her doll collection. As a child, she enjoyed Croatian music and folk dancing. Throughout her life, she lived for family outings, most of which included fishing trips to Twin Lakes, Disneyland, and the Renaissance Faire. She had a passion for medieval history and museums. She was an excellent chef and provided many gourmet meals for her family. For a short time, she worked at Reverie Winery in Calistoga managing the winery, promoting PR and running the tasting room. Graduating from CSU Fresno's school of nursing, she became a registered nurse, and later became one of the first staff nurse III's in California at Santa Rosa Memorial, where she also ran an entire hospital floor. During her career, she worked in the Hats program, emergency room, operating room, intensive care unit, neurosurgery, and in dialysis. Family was everything to her. She was a tireless volunteer for every opportunity to help her children and others grow. She volunteered as the team nurse at St. Vincent High School for the track, basketball and football teams while her sons played. A devout Catholic, she was involved for many years in the Confirmation class at St. Vincent's. Her faith led her as far as to take a Holy pilgrimage to Europe with her father Nicholas, where they travelled to many historic churches and cathedrals, Lourdes, the Vatican, and even a mass with the Pope. Rosemarie was very supportive of her husband Richard in his passion for automobiles. She even learned how to drive a Model T and then became a member of the Redwood Empire Model T Club. She was a great car girl, and the number 1 fan of her family's activities. Rosemarie is survived by her adored and cherished husband and "Disney buddy", Richard V. DeCarli; her loving sons, Alexander R. DeCarli and Dante V. DeCarli. She is the beloved daughter of Nicholas and Rose
