Russell Ohlson

On June 27, 2026, Russ Ohlson passed away at the age of 90. Russ was born February 25, 1936 in Healdsburg, CA. Russ and his sister Pat were raised on the California coast at the Del Mar Ranch, which would later become what is known today as the Sea Ranch.

Russ graduated from Point Arena High School. From there he went to Santa Rosa Junior College and then onto UC Davis to study agriculture, graduating in 1957. It is there he met his first wife and together they moved to Williams, CA to run and farm a family ranch. There they had 2 children, Tami and Craig. Russ served for 8 years as a Navy Reservist and volunteered on the Williams Fire Department.

In 1983, Russ met his loving wife, Sue. They were married on New Year's Eve and were happily married for 42 years. They made their home in Williams with Sue’s two daughters, Amy and Katie. In 1995 with an empty nest, Russ and Sue moved to Bodega Bay where they enjoyed many years of retirement on the coast. Russ enjoyed fishing, hunting, and enjoyed spending time on the Rogue River in Oregon.

He is survived by his wife Sue, 4 children, Tami, Craig, Amy and Katie, 5 grandsons, DJ Milligan, Ethan and Aiden Atteo, and Jake and Ben Hopper, and two twin great grandsons Rory and Casey Milligan.
