Ryan Lee Shaw

Ryan Lee Shaw, age 42, was born on April 21, 1983 in Omaha, NE and passed away unexpectedly on September 20, 2025 after a medical emergency at his home in Santa Rosa, CA. His family and friends are deeply saddened at the sudden loss of an incredible, beautiful soul.

Ryan was a smart and driven man who spent most of his adult life working in the pool industry where he started as a service technician, followed by a promotion to repair technician and shortly after became lead repair tech. As things continued to pick up, Ryan was promoted to project manager in which he worked with the construction and design teams along with contractors and building inspectors to design and build new and luxurious pools, decks, outdoor kitchens and more. His office nickname, “Superman,” initially started as a joke but wound up being what everyone adopted and knew him as given his quality of work and ability to wear many hats. He was praised as a great leader and was known for his excellence at building team morale. Despite his hard work and dedication to his career, his real passion was working with cars, being the family handy man, and of course his Detroit Lions. When he wasn’t busy tinkering about or watching football, Ryan filled his time being a dedicated father, brother and son. He loved to spend time with family and was the first one to drop everything he was doing to help others. During family visits you could always find him helping with house projects, making dinner, cleaning up and taking care of those around him. He had an infectious smile and an uncanny ability to spread cheer and laughter. His journey on earth was one of kindness, compassion, love and his faith in God. His passing has created an unimaginable void in every heart he touched and has left the world with one less ray of sunshine. Even in death he will continue to have a profound impact on the lives of all who knew him.

Ryan is survived by his loving son Ryley and daughter Jenevieve, his mother Teresa, his sister Randi, and his brothers Marty and Michael. He was also a cherished grandson, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle and friend to many.

For his service, Ryan will come home to Nebraska at last. Mass to be held on October 3, 2025 at 12:00 noon at St. Edwards Catholic Church–805 Washington St, St Edward, NE 68660.
