Sandra Lee Barry Parady

December 12, 1938 — November 1, 2017

Passed away unexpectedly, Nov. 1, 2017 in Santa Cruz, CA. Sandy was born in Petaluma, to Robert and Adelma Barry on Dec. 12, 1938. She grew up in Petaluma, and graduated from Petaluma High. Sandy was the youngest of three children, she joins her best friend and older sister, Jean Drake (Robert), and leaves behind her brother Robert Barry, of Santa Rosa. She attended San Jose State to be a teacher. On Labor Day weekend of 1962, she met the love of her life Richard Parady, they dated for 3 months, and Dick would drive up every weekend from Santa Monica to see her. On Dec. 21, 1962 they married in Los Angeles. They were married for 40 years, until Dick’s death in 2002.

Although they never had children they had pets, lots and lots of pets, dogs, cats, and fish. Sandy and Dick lived in Boulder Creek, CA all their married life, and had to buy the empty lot next door just to have room for the dogs. Sandy was particularly in love with Vizsla’s. She was president of the national Vizsla’s Club, twice. Sandy was fondly thought of as “Auntie Butch”, to Charry, Michael and William Drake, John, Elizabeth, James, Ellen, Diana and David Barry, and the late Susan Drake. She also leaves many great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews and cousins.

At her request, no services were held. Private interment, Cypress Hill Memorial Park.
