Scott Ernest Byorum

November 9, 1968 — March 8, 2021

Scott Ernest Byorum, age 53, passed away after a brief illness on March 8, 2021 with his loving partner Angela Graves by his side.

Scott was born on November 9,1968 at the old Petaluma General Hospital that was located on 6th Street downtown Petaluma.

Scott is survived by his parents Henry and Judith Byorum, brother Henry A. Byorum (Debbie), nephews Logan and Ryan Byorum, former spouse Shandell Byorum, aunts; Sally (Rich) Shackel, Maren (Tom) Baxman, uncle, Andy (Gus) Andersen, and several cousins.

Scott was a lifelong resident of Sonoma County. A student of Gravenstein Elementary, Analy High School, SRJC, and graduate of Sonoma State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.

Scott, during his life, had a varied work career throughout Sonoma County; Thin Film Technician at the former Optical Coating Laboratory in Santa Rosa, Corporate Trainer at VIAVI Solutions Inc., Director of Business Development at Nationwide Real Estate Tax Services Inc., and Chess Instructor at “Chess for Kids Inc.” Also, Scott was a self-taught painter, publisher of poetry, short stories, and novels.

Lover of all creatures great or small, furry or otherwise. Kind, caring, generous, but too often wore his heart on his sleeve.

Scott leaves a hole in our hearts that no amount of time can heal and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Hugs and kisses Scott. We love you.

Interment to be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sonoma County Animal Shelter.
