Sharon Lee Clarke had her last sunrise on June 4, 2024.
She was born on March 13, 1944 in San Francisco to Howard and Helen Sanders. She was survived by her husband of 61 years Bob Clarke, 2 sons Jimmy (wife Dawn) and Howard (wife Cary), 3 grandchildren Paige, Megan, and Tyler, her brother Carl (wife Sheree), and 3 nephews Shawn, Travis, and Ryan.
Sharon and her family moved to a chicken ranch in Santa Rosa when she was 9. She attended Monroe Elementary, Santa Rosa Junior High, and moved to Petaluma to live as a High School junior with her Granny, Peggy Williams. Her first job was working as a switchboard operator.
She met Bob at 17 and married him 2 years later in 1963. After 6 years of adventurous life, she gave birth to James (Jimmy). 3 years later she gave birth to Howard. She was involved in her children's lives, even coaching Howard's soccer teams. After volunteering at Penngrove School, she was hired as a full-time employee and later moved up to Head Secretary of McKinley Grade School. She retired in 2004.
She was very artistic, and musical, and enjoyed singing and dancing. She loved and cherished her family, especially her grandkids. "Granny" was her favorite title, and anyone who saw her could tell, as children always surrounded her. She had a strong will, loved travel, especially to her favorite places (Hawaii, Cow Mountain, and Lake Almanor), had an adventurous spirit, and was also tough as boot leather.
There will be a celebration of life for her on June 23rd in Penngrove Park from 12 to 4 p.m.
