Sharon “Shari” Brundige Witsch, age 85, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, in Kenwood, CA.
In keeping with her wishes, no funeral will be held. A celebration of life is being planned for 12 noon, Saturday, May 9th at Kenwood Plaza Park in Kenwood, further details will be shared on social media.
Shari was born on March 8, 1941, in Petaluma, CA, to Lloyd Brundige and Evelyn Borgwardt Brundige. She attended elementary school in Petaluma before moving to Kenwood, where she later graduated from Sonoma High School.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Kay Brundige Stoy and nephew, Ted Lewis. Shari is survived by her daughters, Debbie Witsch Steiner (Jeff Finck) and Tara Witsch Baker (Tony Baker); her granddaughters, Brittany Steiner, Hayley Baker Davison, and Anika Baker; her great-grandson, Cole Steiner; and her niece Kerry Lewis.
Shari was a true social butterfly who found joy in bringing people together. She loved attending and hosting parties, often with her sister Kay in tow. Her cousins can tell some stories!! And she always had her toenails painted perfectly to show off her pretty little feet in tiny sandals. Her family and friends will forever cherish the many memories she created—stories that will continue to be shared for years to come.
Known for her warmth and lively spirit, Shari was always there to listen, offer encouragement, and lift others up. She was her daughters’ biggest supporter, telling them that they could do ANYTHING they set their minds to. To them, she was their cheerleader!
Very active and on the go, Shari enjoyed camping, hiking, horseback riding, and traveling. She found peace outdoors—whether poolside, creek side, or in her garden, which she loved to work in. Gardening was her therapy. She had a natural green thumb and was always pruning or trimming something in the yard.
As a stay-at-home Mom, Shari raised her daughters on a ranch in the Sonoma foothills, surrounded by dogs, horses, and chickens—the way she was raised and a life she deeply cherished. Her love of animals lives on in her daughters as they have dogs and have had farm animals over the years.
Shari also had a passion for reading. She looked forward each day to her morning coffee accompanied by the Press Democrat and weekly the Index-Tribune, often starting her day enjoying a good read.
Shari lived a full, happy, and healthy life—something she expressed even in her final hours. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
