Shirley Ann Gibbs passed on April 13, 2021.
Daughter of Glen C. Ronsheimer and Alma Momsen Ronsheimer. Born in Petaluma March 21, 1926. She lived her whole life in Sonoma County.
Preceded by: Glen Ronsheimer (Clara), Alma Ronsheimer Siemer (Henry); grandparents Ida and C.W. Ronsheimer, Anna and Charles Momsen; her husband Elbert Gibbs (married 53 years); sister Beverly Vlastos; half-brother Ronald Ronsheimer; half-sister Elaine Hicks; step brother Howard Wymond; and son-in-law Kip Diehl.
She is survived by daughter Linda Diehl, son Gary Gibbs (Toni); granddaughters Janis (John), Jennifer (Brian), and Ashley; Great grandchildren Brandon, Ryley, Jordan, and Harlow; plus many nieces and nephews.
When Linda and Gary were young, Elbert and Shirley were sheep and cooking leaders in 4H club. They enjoyed the ocean and took trips to Hawaii and Alaska. She traveled to different countries in Europe with her sister Beverly and granddaughter Janis. When Janis lived in Washington, D.C., she visited several times and they went to New York. She and Elbert took grandchildren to Lake Louise and Baniff. There were also several trips to Disneyland.
Shirley worked for 15 years at Petaluma High School as a server then later at Rancho Cotate High School for ten years, acting as food director for nine of those years.
At her request, there will be no services. Her ashes along with Elbert’s are to be scattered in view of Bodega Head at sea.
