Sister Mary Of The Immaculate Heart

February 20, 1920 — August 5, 2013

Sister Mary of the Immaculate Heart, born Rose Ann Minette, died peacefully at her Sebastopol home on August 5, 2013. After celebrating her Silver Jubilee as a contemplative nun at Corpus Christ Monastery in Menlo Park, California, she joined the Hermits of Christ the King community in Sebastopol, combining her contemplative prayer with service to the less fortunate. When this community dissolved, she and Sister Michael Bird continued the work privately until age and disability brought them to a private home in Sebastopol. Sister Mary spent the last 8 years of her journey with prayer once again the primary focus of her vocation. The youngest of seven siblings of pioneer stock in Minnesota, she is survived by many generations of nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 150 St. Joseph Way, Cotati, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, followed by the Rosary at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial: Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Santa Rosa.
