Stanley Joseph Beretta

March 6, 1942 — December 15, 2017

Stanley Joseph Beretta, 75, of Petaluma, passed away on December 15, 2017 in his home town of Petaluma.

Stan is survived by his spouse Marion Beretta; his sons Joe Beretta, Steve Beretta, John Beretta, Gary Beretta, Dante Del Prete, Kathy Del Prete and DeeDee Del Prete; his brothers Bob Beretta and Art Beretta. He had 15 Grandchildren and two great Grandchildren who lovingly called him “Papa”.

Stan was born in Petaluma, California to Joseph and Bernice Beretta on March 6, 1942.  He was raised on a dairy ranch and attended Herbert Slater Junior High and Santa Rosa High School. He loved everything about making cars go fast - from dragsters to stock cars. He became known as “Smoke" while working on race car engines. His love for speed continued through his boys with cars and motorcycles. He spent 35 years working hard as an Ironworker tying steel on many famous buildings in the Bay Area.

Although not a man of many words, he shared his love through his smile and twinkling eyes. Over the many years he loved being the attention of his Grandchildren.
