Steve Tam - Steve Tam was born February 21, 1970 in Santa Rosa, California and passed away in the loving comfort of his family Sunday, August 3, 2008. Steve found love in Linh Mach and was married in a small ceremony September 19, 2005 in Santa Rosa. But, they were waiting until this summer to celebrate with her family in her native Vietnam. They married again in Ho Chi Minh City July 1st of this year when Steve was welcomed into her extended family with a large banquet. It was two weeks after their return that he unexpectedly passed away. Steve is survived by his wife, Linh, parents Tom and Julie Tam, brother Hayman and his wife, Blythe, brother David, as well as uncles, aunts and many cousins. Steve will be missed by his closest friend Robbie Holman, numerous friends, customers who became friends, and the family he created with his employees at Gohan. Memorial service will be Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma, at 10:00 AM. Steveâ??s family requests that a donation to your choice of charity be made in his name in lieu of flowers. Steve spent his entire life in Santa Rosa, attending Steele Lane Elementary School, Santa Rosa Junior High and graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1988. He furthered his formal education at College of Marin. But, his true education occurred while growing up in the restaurant business, where he learned all aspects of how to manage a successful restaurant.
