Steven Robert "Steve" Adams, loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on July 17, 2026, after a long journey with corticobasal degeneration. He was born on October 27, 1950, in Oceanside, California, to Lester (Jack) Adams and Joyce Adams Anderson.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack Adams.

In June 1972, Steve married his high school sweetheart, Kathy, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with family, friendship, and countless cherished memories. Their love and commitment were an inspiration to all who knew them.

Steve dedicated 35 years of his career to Safeway, where his strong work ethic, dependability, and easygoing personality earned the respect and friendship of coworkers throughout the years. The same dedication he brought to work was evident at home, where he was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Family was everything to Steve. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with the people he loved. He showed his love not only through words, but through the countless hours he devoted to helping others. Whether it was a home improvement project, repairing something that had broken, or simply being there when someone needed him, Steve generously gave his time, talents, and unwavering support. If there was a project to tackle or something that needed fixing, Steve was often the first person family and friends called. He never hesitated to roll up his sleeves and lend a hand.

Steve was a proud and loving grandfather. His grandchildren were one of his greatest joys, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. Watching them grow and sharing life's moments together brought him immense happiness, creating memories his family will cherish forever.

Those who knew Steve will remember his incredible sense of humor. He had a quick wit, loved playful sarcasm, and never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh. Rather than meeting life's challenges with confrontation, he met them with humor, bringing smiles to those around him and reminding everyone not to take life too seriously. His laughter was contagious, and he had a remarkable way of making people smile, even on their hardest days. It was one of the many ways he showed his love.

Outside of work and family, Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, cheering on his beloved San Francisco Giants, and traveling with Kathy. Whether enjoying the outdoors, watching a Giants game, or exploring somewhere new with the love of his life, he treasured every opportunity to create memories with those he loved.

Steve is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy; his children, Jennifer (Jason) Pickle, Sarah Adams, and Matthew Adams; his cherished grandchildren, Emily and Madison Pickle, and Cole and Tula Adams; and his siblings, Connie Marlin-McCracken, Dave Adams (Carmen), and Lori McHenry (Ken).

In addition to his immediate family, Steve leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives were enriched by his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love of family.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Sutter Hospice, whose kindness, comfort, and support brought peace to Steve and his loved ones during his final days.

His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his love, laughter, and the countless memories he created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him forever.
