Susan Ann (Kessler) Schutz

Susan (Sue) Schutz passed away in Santa Rosa, CA on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. She was born May 7, 1929 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada to William and Helen Kessler. She married the love of her life, Nicholas Schutz on June 28, 1952 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
She is survived by her children Michael Schutz and life partner Judith Stewart of Ukiah, CA; Daniel Schutz of Santa Rosa, CA; grandchildren Melissa (Schutz) and Kevin King of Meridian, ID; Kristin Schutz of Ukiah, CA; Christopher Schutz of Sacramento, CA; great-grandchildren Seth and Eli King of Meridian, ID; Dante and Demarkus Schutz of Sacramento, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews that will affectionately remember her as "Auntie Susie."
She is preceded in death by her husband Nicholoas Schutz and daughter-in-law Maria Glena Schutz; late wife of Daniel Schutz.
During her younger years, Sue worked for Reader’s Digest and May Company before she and her husband ceased the opportunity to open the very first McDonald’s restaurant in Ukiah, Ca. Sue managed the bookkeeping during the earlier years.
Sue was an avid collector of many things and was passionate about gardening, jigsaw puzzles and “Her” Dodgers. She was known for her fiery spirit and though she acted otherwise, she loved when Nick would take her on the next big vacation.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the wonderful and loving staff at Mystical Rose Care Home.
Family and close friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 15th at 11am at The Cathedral of St. Eugene (corner of Farmer's Lane and Montgomery Drive, Santa Rosa, CA). Entombment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery (2930 Bennett Valley Rd., Santa Rosa).
