Sylvia Catherine Volpi

Passed away at home in Petaluma, CA, June 18, 2017 at the age of 79. She was the daughter of the late Silvio and Mary Volpi.  Beloved sister of John Volpi and his wife, Mary Lee. Cherished aunt of John Volpi (Gianna), Gina O’Connor (Robert) and Deanna Volpi-Kreger (Joe). Loving great aunt of Jennifer Spaletta, Jamie Pottorff (Kevin), Jimmy Spaletta (Sarah), Johnny Volpi, Katie Volpi, Tanner Kreger and Happy Kreger. Adored great great aunt of Jett Pacciorini, Jazi Pacciorini and Shane Spaletta.

Sylvia was born, reared and educated in Petaluma, graduating from St. Vincent High School in the Class of 1955. She then graduated with her degree in Physical Therapy from U.C. Berkeley and began a 25 year career as a physical therapist at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco. She was the department head at St. Mary’s Physical Therapy Department. Sylvia was dedicated to her family and friends and her love of music, singing, and playing the piano and accordion with her brother John was only rivaled by her passion to travel the world. She will be forever missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Thursday, June 22, 2017, at 5:30 P.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma. Private entombment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.  The family prefers memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma or St. Vincent Elementary School.
