Teresa "Gina" Catelani

Teresa, or Gina as she was known to most people, left this world to meet her Creator on December 7,2014 after courageously battling numerous health problems. She was a loving person who never refused a plea for help. Her good nature and her desire to do good was known to all and by all she will be greatly missed. She was a 30 year member of the Coro Allegro where she sang Mezzo Soprano. Gina provided child care to many working parents for 22 years. She was a wonderful mother and truly the heart of the family. Teresa came to California in 1955 as a long term tourist and student wishing to learn American English and our culture in order to work in the tourist industry in her native Italy. While living in Windsor she met her future husband - Angelo Catelani of Healdsburg and married him in September, 1956. She is predeceased by her parents and by two brothers in Italy. In California she leaves behind her adoring husband Angelo and her loving children - Albert (Donna), Jane Howard (Gary), Michael (Robyn) plus seven grandchildren - Dena Seidenfeld (Justin), Anthony and Dominic Catelani, Danielle and Maxine Howard, Olivia and Samuel Catelani and two great grandchildren - Madison and Lila Seidenfeld. A rosary will be recited Friday, December 12, 2014 at 6:30 PM at LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL, 4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa. The Funeral Mass will be offered at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1244 St. Francis Rd., Santa Rosa, on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:00 AM, with a reception to follow in the Church Hall. Visitation will begin Friday at 11:00 AM at the mortuary. If you wish, a donation in Teresa's memory may be made to Hanna Boys Center or to your favorite charity.
