Thadeus "Ted" John Chwierut

Passed away at his Petaluma residence surrounded by his loving family on September 25, 2013 at 81 years. Devoted husband for 60 years to Wanda Chwierut. Cherished father of Nadine (John) Terry of TX, Debbie (Ron) Simonson of Petaluma, Michael Chwierut of Santa Rosa, Thad (Carrie) Chwierut of El Dorado Hills, CA, and Tim Chwierut of Petaluma. Loving grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of three. Dear brother of Chester (Betty) Chwierut of IL and brother-in-law of Lydia Makula, Elsa Kobylinski, Harry (Annette) Wolski, and Fred Wolski, all of Australia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A resident of Petaluma since 1970, Ted worked for AT&T for over 33 years. Prior to that, he served in the Army. He was a devout parishioner of St. James, a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, and a District Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). In his earlier years, Ted was President of the Casa Grande Booster Club and a Pop Warner football coach. Ted was known for his warm smile and kindness to others. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. A ‘special thank you' to Hospice of Petaluma for their compassion and tender care. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church, Building Fund. Private Inurnment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma.
